We had a great tour day. We drove by the National Bank where Spain keeps a lot of their gold, as well as in England and at Fort Knox in the United States. We viewed the new City Hall that was built in 2007. There once was a wall around Madrid and now there is huge gateway that is still standing. I saw some car dealerships, such as Bentley, Renault and Ford. We also saw the Plaza De Torros, the bullfighting ring in Madrid, a favorite sport. It was made of red Moorish brick and was quite large. We were told that the tickets were from 6Euros to 350Euros, or sometimes, they go as high as 2,000Euros. The seats in the sun were less expensive as the ones in the shade. The bullfight last for a couple of hours! The season is from March to October! It always end with the killing of the bulls. In the nineth century, the Moors from Moroco conquered Spain and they built a castle and a fortress. As one observes Madrid, the Spanish and the Arab influence is quite evident. Madrid is known for its natural water source. Don Quixote was a famous and well loved author in Spain and his statue is standing in the local park, in the center of Madrid. We also had the privelege of seeing the Royal Palace which was absolutely amazing and the Prado Museum, which was equally amazing! Our tour guides have been so wonderful and knowledgeable. We ended the day with a nice dinner together.
